The ultimate aim of each campaign is to acquire a planet-killer super weapon for your faction. Once again, the single-player mode is split into three campaigns: one for each race – the United Earth Federation (UEF), Cybran and Illuminate (dropping the Aeon prefix from the prequel). Instead of unlimited borrowing, your Supreme Commander now has a debit card. The economy has also been simplified: players cannot queue more units than they have resources for. Graphics are altered, units are merged or replaced, and the research structures have become a centralised research tree. It is a sequel to the first Supreme Commander (and expansion), and as such is set 25 years after the events in that game, but has many differences from it as well. It was developed by Gas-Powered Games and published by Square Enix.

Overall, good game, but let the price drop, get it cheap.Supreme Commander 2 is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms – available via Steam. Fast experimental units building.ģ) Some unique experimental units to play with as well as their overall numbers are great now. WHY? SC and SCFA had higher and were customizable.ġ) Fast unit building, relatively short gameplay hours/stage for quick gameplay, if you are in a hurry.

Compared to Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance, this is nothing.Ĥ) Stupid tech trees that will force you to use pretty much the same strategy to defeat opponents, even at high difficulty settings.ĥ) Few units, experimental units aren't as scary as they were in previous two titles.Ħ) UNIT CAP to only 300. Very dissappointing if you want to modify game files or use trainer/cheat (which, after beating the game, can add some "less intense, more fun" type gameplay), since the game won't let you.

Read full reviewġ) Not as grand in terms of scale, size, unit cap and map like its predecessors.Ģ) Pointless campaign missions (without going into details on progression of story)ģ) Have to have a steam account and steam sign up to play. Probably, the developers made it quickly and cheaply I believe 5.50 is its real price but it could be saved, developed and promoted by additions made by interested users. The main problem, making the game much less "durable", is the difficulties of creating maps and other add-ons by users and, because of this, its future is dim, and unlikely it will even remotely achieve the level of the original legendary TA. It reminds the "previous one", while does not reach the level of Supreme Commander in most aspects, including, surprisingly, even quality of graphics (I use both at 1920x1080).

For the price 5.50 (delivered disk) plus extra content from Web (6.69) the game is inexpensive, and is interesting to play, and thus can be recommended to try. The game was stable, and did not make any "troubles" (in Win7 with 16GB). The game as it came on the disk was quite raw, but, considering it is not the first its year, updates were installed seamlessly from the Web, and I did not see the game at its worse. Installation took some time, it looks like a lot of content is arriving from Internet, and be aware, that this can be much longer than an hour. The new disk arrived promptly, it was sealed and worked well. Supreme Commander 2 includes a more streamlined economy and user interface than those found in its predecessor, with added emphasis on tactics and decision-making on the dynamic battlefield. Also available are "experimental war machines," from a unit that bounces bombs off its massive shield to a vortex-creating monstrosity that sucks up nearby enemies, to influence each side's progress in unusual ways.

Gas Powered Games' futuristic strategy title returns with a new campaign mode, customizable armies, and an assortment of other enhancements.
